Holy Day (and other special days) Liturgy Schedule
Dear St. Rita Families,
The autumn time brings colder weather, hotter drinks, and lots of holidays to spend with family and friends! It also brings a couple of Holy Days of Obligation. These are days which all Catholics are obligated to attend Mass.
Upcoming Holy Days this year are All Saints Day (November 1st), Immaculate Conception (December 8th), Christmas (December 25th), and Mary, Mother of God (January 1st).
Other upcoming days which are not obligations but are special to our faith and tradition are All Souls Day (November 2nd) and Thanksgiving (November 22nd).
Our liturgy schedule for these days at St. Rita:
**All Saints' Day, November 1st - 7am, 8:15am, 7pm
All Souls' Day, November 2nd - 7pm
Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd - 9am
**Immaculate Conception - December 7th Vigil @ 7pm
December 8th - 8:15am, Noon
(NB: Immaculate Conception falls on a Saturday. Attending Mass for Immaculate Conception does not fulfill regular Sunday obligation. For example, if I were to attend Mass at noon on the 8th, I would still have to go to Mass either that evening or Sunday morning. Catholics are obligated to attend Mass for both Immaculate Conception and the Second Sunday of Advent.)
**Christmas (Eve, December 24th) - 4:30pm, 11pm
(Day, December 25th) - 8:30am, 10am
**Mary, Mother of God - December 31 Vigil Candlelight and Carol Mass of Thanksgiving @ 7pm
January 1st - 8:30am, 10am
We look forward to worshiping with you and your families this year! God bless you all!
